For homeowners, FOTILE range hoods offer a myriad of benefits that go beyond conventional ventilation options. With several models to choose from and countless conveniences that span installation, everyday operation, cleaning, and beyond, these detail-driven range hoods set the standard for chef-caliber kitchens, modern households, and luxury homes alike.
Below, our FOTILE team assembled three key conveniences incorporated into our range hoods. As you read, remember that our knowledgeable support team is always available for any questions you may have.
Depending on the style and dimensions of your kitchen, you may prefer either a ducted or ductless range hood. While ductless range hoods use charcoal filters to clean oil, smoke, and particulate matter from your stovetop emissions, ducted range hoods channel air outdoors. The charcoal mesh material features 20mm of thick, activated carbon cotton that’s both flame retardant and hardened. Additional specs include:
• Polyurethane foam
• Carbon content ≥ 50%
• Pore -10
Recirculation Kit User and Installation Manual
Our FOTILE Pixie Air® is convertible, offering both ducted and ductless options. The recirculation kit installation process is as follows:
1. To avoid misalignments, install the range hood exhaust duct first
2. Next, use aluminum foil tape to wrap the exhaust cover
3. Then, insert the recirculation kit into the exhaust cover (use a 45° angle)
4. Once inserted, seal the aluminum foil tape
5. Lastly, use another segment of aluminum foil tape to seal the exhaust cover again
Before beginning the installation process for your range hood recirculation kit, be sure to accurately measure your upper cabinet height from the base of your cabinet.
For measurements exceeding 15 inches, a regular exhaust vent will suffice. This is included in the range hood package complimentary. If, however, your measurements are between 12 and 14 inches, a short exhaust cover is necessary and can be purchased directly from our collection.
When outside ventilation is inaccessible, an accessory recirculation kit can still filter smoke fumes, grease debris, and particulate matter from your kitchen.

For your own safety, be sure to:
• Turn off the circuit breaker leading to your range hood before installing or maintaining your recirculation kit
• Wear gloves to avoid cuts and scratches when changing the charcoal filter
• And keep your upper cabinet door open when operating the recirculation kit.
Of note, we recommend replacing the charcoal filter every four to six months if you are regularly using your range hood. Do not attempt to clean the charcoal filter. Instead, purchase a new charcoal litter through our collection.
Certain kitchen styles and sizes may require microwave-mounted range hoods. In most cases, the opening for these range hoods is accessible behind the hood. Fortunately, the 3 ¼” x 10” rectangular holes align perfectly with the existing flue, meaning that additional holes are not necessary. As a result, our FOTILE Pixie Air® suction and noise values align with the horizontal duct, allowing for broader installation compatibility.

Depending on where you live, your home’s local codes may restrict the operating limits of CFMs. That’s why our FOTILE Pixie Air® is programmable, allowing installation personnel to set the maximum CFM not to exceed 400CFM. Likewise, homeowners may prefer a make-up air system for more effective ventilation.
